Overview- Continuing in the footsteps of SimCity and SimCity 2000, SimCity 3000 brought a new interface, snazzy graphics and some added perks not found in the first two SimCity installments. Replacing the Urban Renewal Kit (SCURK), SimCity 3000 had the Building Architect Tool (BAT) that allowed users to place their own buildings in the game.

First announced in late 1997, SimCity 3000 was originally meant to be far more grandiose that what arrived on computers well over a year later, due to the fact that many computers of the time simply would not have been able to run SimCity 3000. Along with this, the SimCity 3000 Mac version was significantly and repeatedly delayed from its originally slated February release date. The end product for Macs simply did not perform well on the systems of the day, contrasting to previous versions or SimCity that were originally geared first towards Mac rather than PC.
