This is a project to represent locations from Middle Earth as described in The Lord of the Rings and as seen in Peter Jackson's movies. The chosen locations are built much larger than they would be if built to scale with the terrain, so that they can fit in a reasonably small region. The region, which will be available for download someday, was created from the maps in the Lord of the Rings books, using Paint and CPH3. I'd like to thank SimTropolis for providing iLive, with which I modified the lots.

Andro has been a Tolkien fan since 1994, had access to a computer capable of playing SimCity since 1996, been playing SimCity since 1998, owned SimCity since 1999, been working with terrain bitmaps since 2000, had Internet access since 2001, been talking about himself in the third person since 2002, and had SimCity 4 since January 15, 2003. His last attempt to create LotR stuff in SimCity 4 can be found here.

12/25/05 - Merry Christmas again! I never did get anywhere with Edoras, but I'm now (finally) working on Narnia... have a look!

12/19/04 - I have made some major changes to last week's Isengard. Unfortunately, it still does not include any wheels, spiked or unspiked, as nothing suitable could be found. Now I must return to work on Edoras....

12/14/04 - RotK EE comes out today! w00t To celebrate, I've built the long-awaited Flooded Isengard. Some other long-awaited stuff is under development. :)

03/24/04 - Interestingly, Quincy (the old computer) died within seconds after I posted the message below. :P
I'm currently working on this, which has almost nothing to do with Tolkien. I have, however, finally read the Silm and am am working on the UT... in case anyone wants to see Numenore or something here....;D

01/16/04 - Yesterday, after playing SC4 for a full year, I uninstalled it. I cannot continue to run it on this computer. However, this is not the end; once a new one is available I will continue building as planned. I'd like to thank everyone for the encouragement they've given me - see the official threads, except the one at Alturas, where I have annoyed everyone. ;) I'd also like to thank God for not letting my computer eat me yet. Have a great year, everyone. :)

12/25/03 - Merry Christmas and God bless. After a strange save that caused the removal of all props (very disturbing), and problems with in-game snow (very surreal), Dagorlad and Udûn is in the can. It features the Black Gate and all of the remaining terrain covered by Frodo and Sam in The Two Towers.

12/17/03 - The Black Gate has been left about half finished. Gorgoroth, however, is finally complete. With multiple crashes, lockups, and general unanalogiable slowness, that was one of the most stressful things I've ever done. I'll see RotK on the 20th.

12/13/03 - Having rebuilt Ithilien, the city is now finalized as Anórien and Ithilien. It's finally time to spread the word....

12/12/03 - Anórien is now almost finished. It does look better than last time. Justice.

12/11/03 - Saving and exiting at the end of the day erased all of my work. However, I will now be able to redo some things I wasn't happy with. God only forces me to repeat my work when He knows I can do a better job the second time.

12/10/03 - For the past month or so I have been preparing lots and a terrain to use to replicate locations from Middle Earth in SimCity 4. The first of these, Minas Tirith, is now ready for download, although the city it is built on will not be completed until tomorrow. A number of additions will follow over the next week, leading up to the world release of The Return of the King on December 17. Keep visiting this page for updates.
