Life in SimCity Part III: Conclusion By Matej 7/14/01 I will start by apologizing for not writing this editorial sooner. My schedule was busy and I could not find the time to write this. Aside from that, the site was down for some time and I was working on fixing it. In past editorials involving SimCity 3000, we saw parts one and two of Sim Simon's life in the megalopolis of Hugeville. You saw a breakdown of his budget and his daily travels. Today, we will decide what Sim really thinks about your megalopolis. Now begins Life in SimCity Part III: Conclusion. Sim has a life. Not a good one, not a bad one, but a life. Every day he wakes up, struggles through work, spends most of his paycheck, goes home, pays bills, and puts the rest of the money in the bank. Does this equate to a happy sim? It does not! Sim really hates having to go to his minimum wage job every day. He hates paying your taxes. He hates the city. But he can't move because you got rid of every neighbor connection. Next time you open a city and get a complaint from the below-average Bowlers or the little old lady who complains about everything under the sun, listen to them. They have feelings too (I think). But then again, you could be a tyrannous dictator, trying to make your sims miserable. In conclusion, you really ought to forget about your city funds. Pay attention to your sim's needs: low taxes, high gas mileage, and legalized gambling. Forget about taxes for a few years. Let the Casinos pay your expenses. |
