Will Wright will be recieving the first ever Hall of Fame Award from the Association of Electronic Interactive Marketers (AEIM), for his "revolutionary impact on the electronic games industry." The award will be presented at the MI6 Conference and Awards Show which runs June 27-28th. You can read the full details at GameDaily.

With Spore taking the stage at E3, game sites have now released their rankings and awards for the game. Taking "Best of Show" for 1UP.com and GameTap, Spore was also nominated by GameTrailers for its "Best of E3 Awards". Along with that, Spore also recieved a "GameDaily Nod" award.

Spore Central (our affiliate SimCity Central) has just recently launched a Spore comic by Oppie, appropriately dubbed "Sporelings". Look for updates on Tuesdays (although not necessarily weekly).

The Spore website has been redesigned with a large amount of new content post E3. Giving better details about the different Spore life phases, the website also sports the new Spore logo, up to date news and the E3 video. Hopefully the Spore website will be updated more consistently from here on out.

IGN is now featuring a 20 minute video of Spore from E3 that shows that main spore menu as well as more gameplay. Make sure to check this one out at IGN.com.

Another Spore trailer has surfaced, this time from xSpore.com. This trailer is a non-gameplay one with pre-rendered graphics depicting the "Hollywood version" of creatures and scenes that we have already seen from Will's GDC 05' presentation. It is very likely that this trailer is going to be heavily pushed by EA to advertise for Spore as it is the most polished video we have seen so far. Also, the end of the trailer shows us yet another view of the new Spore logo.

It seems that the latest Spore workshop at E3 with Will Wright gave some more details on the design process behind the game rather than the delving into the game itself. Gamasutra has the details about how the Spore development team is actually a small one (75), as well as Will Wrights opinion on Nintendo's Wii controller.

It seems that we can expect some news on the next The Sims 2 expansion pack after the noise about Spore has died down post E3, according to a post on the Snooty Sims forum. The only glimpse of the expansion pack is mentioned to be on the "EA teaser wall," so whether or not this will be posted on the internet is yet unknown.

An interesting New York Times piece details how The Sims has become the modern equivalent of playing dolls (anyone who has been in the 'Sim racket for a while remembers that The Sims was originally called "Dollhouse"). The article argues that playing with dolls, even in a game like The Sims is "essential part of self-discovery and growing up for many children, especially girls." It seems as though The Sims may act as a set of training wheels for the real world before many people actually enter it.

YouTube has some really amazing Spore video that shows the game in a more polished state than we have seen it before -and get this- a brand new Spore logo clearly visible at the end. By the looks of the video it is an official release. The video seems that it may answer a few questions relating to vegatation, while it most certainly raises some more. We will be getting a better taste of Spore once E3 starts up next week as EA has just confirmed that it will be present. Whether or not Will Wright will be doing the Spore honors is as of yet unknown, however it is very likely that his presentation will include some Spore related information.
