 Spore Screenshots emerge...
Tuesday, March 15, 2005

You can now take a look at some Spore images, thanks to 4Gamer.net. However, unless you read Japanese, don't expect to find many detailed explanations. The images portray the game as more bubbly than SimCity, somewhat reminiscent of SimTheme Park style 3D graphics, however much higher quality.

Update: You can now find the same screenshots along with English explanations and a podcast dealing with Day 3 of the GDC at http://www.gamingsteve.com/.

Special thanks to Tomi

The Sims 2 Mac hits beta...
Sunday, March 13, 2005

A recent story over at Macworld notes that The Sims 2 for Mac has just recently hit the beta stage meaning that a finished product is not too far off. ALthough intially Aspyr was hopeful about a May release, it now seems as thought the game will not be along until June 12th, two weeks after the originally stated May 30th estimate. As of yet there is no news as to whether or not there are plans to port The Sims 2 University to Mac, however we expect it to be soon considering that the far less popular SimCity 4 Rush Hour was ported relatively quickly. Also, there don't seem to be too many other Aspyr projects in the pipeline that would potentially hinder such a port.

 "Spore" in the works...
Saturday, March 12, 2005

Will Wright is working on his next project, entitled "Spore". Going from a "cellular entitiy" to a civilization, Spore will be a game combining elements from many previous sim games (think SimEarth, SimLife, and SimCity in one game). You can find full details about Spore from the Gamespot.com article.

Special thanks to Matthew Coats

Update: It seems as though 1UP has a more detailed description of the different levels that you progress through in the game- read all about it in the article. More news will come with E3...

 University lands...
Friday, March 4, 2005

As early as the first of this month people were recieving their copies of The Sims 2 University expansion pack. The early reactions to the expansion pack seem to be very good, recieving an Editor's Choice Award over at IGN.com. More importantly, however, it seems as though information about the next The Sims 2 expansion pack is included with the game. It seems as though the expansion pack "Nightlife" will be arriving sometime this fall.
